Here is a quick look at temp. My target is 75. I actually shut the ac off in the fish room trying to cook it.

I envy your Cape Cod weather right now. My AC holds the downstairs at 77-78 throughout the day while its 100+ outside.

I do not miss AZ heat at all! Unfortunately tank temps dipped to 68 over night... ill be lucky to hit 75 at this rate lol.

Currently 73.3! Almost there! Side note, I clearly have a pH problem.

Unfortunately it appears I'm going to need a heater. I am unable to hit 74. Kind of crazy. So what's some solid recommendations? I want to completely avoid the list of exploded heaters. All input welcome! I have not owned a heater in over ten years lol

One final thought is just to go ahead with the rest of the swap over and see if the added equipment makes a difference?

I prefer using two eheim jager's on a controller. One for primary and the second one as a backup in case it drops below the 1st ones threshhold. The 250w should be sufficient for our size of aquariums.

Only one will really run at the same time. I was using a controller, let's say heater 1 kicks on at 77degrees to hold it at 78. If the temperature in the tank fell to 76, then heater 2 would kick on (that way if heater 1 went out, heater 2 would catch it).

Ordered heaters and inkbird controller.
I'm going to do some reading on the apex. May consolidate heaters, halides, co2 scrubber solenoid etc

I've got the 2 x 250w Eheim heaters as well hooked up to a temperature controller as further failsafe backup.

The heaters are set to 27c and the temperature controller is set to 25c so whenever it asks for heat they will both come on. The eheims also have their own thermostats so if the controller fails the heaters shouldn't go above 27 worst case until I realise theres a problem.
