Good experiment. Can't wait for the results. Will both tanks be plumbed into the same sump/system?
What dwilliams said.
I think he is putting a different light system on each side of 1 tank.

sounds like a fun experiement
Ya I plan to run it like that for at least 6 months. All the side by side comparisons I have seen, take diff frags and diff size frags for comparison.
So there no real evidence there, this will be a apples to apples comparison.
Here is the layout that i made for the led's And a picture of devil dog just for fun

Looks good man. Your looking full man. You're like me, need a bigger tank. I'm starting a charity called BRA. Broke Reefers of America.

HoW do I get the algae of the frag plugs of stuff i cant dip in peroxide?
When they were in the sand the snails took care of it, now that there on the frag rack snails don't get anywhere near them

The old fashion way. By hand. You could buy fish that eat it, but that can be hit or miss. I just did mine when swapping out the tanks. It took me about 45 minutes to clean about 90 frags.

OK ty what about the ones i cant get it off by hand? Is there any kind of dip that will kill it without killing/harming the coral?

parameters have been stable finally!

1.026 salintiy,480 calcium, 10 alk,1350 mag 8.2 night and day ph. Happy camper WOHOO
Tank is looking amazing and I have all you to thank!!
Upgrading to a 72 gallon bowfront very very soon.

Can i just move my stuff to the 72 add more cured rock and call it a day. Or would i be better setting up the 72 seperate and letting it truly cycle till i move stuff?

I would use as much water as you can from your current system and the cured live rock in the 72 first for a few weeks as you might get a mini cycle. Once the Params look good then transfer things over.

Ya i cant do that as its all glued down with frags and acros and such so i will just set the 72 up seperate and then after its cycled ill transfer.

Ive transfered over tanks in a day several times without problems. Main thing is as long as you have good active live rock you shoudnt see any cycle as the bacteria on the rock will take care of any ammonia just like it does in your tank now. Glass has very little surface area for bacteria its all on your rocks and sand. If your really worried then just use a product like microbacter7 to add some bacteria to the water youll never even see any ammonia or nitrites.
