Just coming back into this awesome hobby was away for a couple years and missed it to much! Setting up a 40 breeder mixed reef with a 15 gal sump,Was lucky enough to find a 15 gal today so I swapped out the 10 I was originally gonna use for the sump. Building a simple stand 32 inches high,Priming it with kilz and painting the stand white as well as the tank trim white. Will continue to update happy to be here and talk to all of you awesome hobbiest!

Cool. I cant wait to watch this. I was gun shy about building my own from scratch and bought an 32 gallon biocube instead to start. this already looks great in white! Any special concern when painting the trim where it meets the future waterline?
Thanks! 32 gal cube is a great size tank that's gonna be a fun build. No worries on the paint because I used Krylon Fusion spray paint which is aquarium safe and cheap as well so it's great haha

Another thing is I don't believe my waterline will actually meet the inside of the rim but I will find out soon when i get this overflow installed lol

ViparSpectra has been installed with a diy pvc hanger that was going to be temporary but it's way more stable then I expected so I may keep it as is lol,Secured with clamps and put a safety screw under the end of the pvc for extra safety so it cannot slide ever. Also added some more liverock from my other tank to hopefully assure no cycle.

Drilled the overflow hole for the eshopps eclipse M and return,Painted background black with Krylon Fusion came out great(some glare spots make it look weird in some areas but just glare from pic) lol
How far down does your overflow sit from the top of the glass? I too have a 40b And I feel like I put mine up to high
