After putting in 40 lbs of Marco rock, and 40 lbs of Carib Sea live sand. I am wondering how many actual gallons of Salt water do I have? Inside dimensions of tank are 21 x 21 x 21 inches, sand bed is 2 inches deep, and the water level is one inch below top of tank. Thanks for any information.

The scientific way would be to fill the tank with water and add all the "stuff" and measure how much water is displaced. Unfortunately, that is rarely feasible. I just assume 20-30% of the water volume is displaced by rock and sand if you are looking for actualize volume for dosing etc.

Weight of rocks isn't going to help calculate displacement as it is the volume/density of the rocks that would determine this.

Your sand should only displace about 3-4 gallons of water at 40lbs

(21 x 21 x 18) / 231 = gallons. Sand displaces more than an equal volume of rock generally.
