So just to clarify, are you mad at the people who are ripping people off, by selling them basic corals for above market price? or are you upset about people who are selling high end corals at market price?

To me theres a clear "market price/value". No one's going to try to sell leather corals for $400, and if they do, whos buying it ?

For what it is worth, when you buy a frag, you are paying for it's potential. That being said, it's nice when "hobbyists" realize that they aren't selling their potential away just providing the "chance" to achieve great potential to fellow "hobbyists" in the newly aquired frag. I don't think most "hobbyists" can charge designer prices just because they came from a designer store. Not to mention the fact that alot of the "designer" corals tech have seller rights attached to them and should not be sold without the original designers express consent to do so. What right do us "hobbyists" have to under sell the manufacturer of a product we bought just because it grew bigger? So those of you "hobbyists" who say your for small businesses but sell fragged coral are actually taking away their business and driving costs down. Double edged sword ;) I've never been given permission ;) ok it's late and I'm rambling ;)

WhatTheHeck was that person thinking...lol I know, I know, off track, but yes I only pay huge amounts for polyps that I feel comfortable paying for. Other than that. Buy at your own risk. That's it!

I've bought many polyps at or above $50. I liked them and paid up for what I wanted. There have been plenty that are above $50 that I didn't like. Needless to say they aren't in my tank.

A seller will only sell something for what someone is willing to pay. If you don't want to pay $50+ for a polyp of something then don't. I can understand not wanting to or being able to pay that much for stuff. I wont ever complain about it though.

It may seem high to you, but then again look at some of the other corals that sell for $1000 plus. People will pay what they feel something is worth. To be completely honest, I'd be more prone to spend big bucks on Z&Ps just because they grow so much faster than something like a booger sized chalice that grows at a snails pace. There's always going to be the newest thing for sale and the market will dictate the selling price. If the market price is higher than your perceived value, then don't buy it... simple as that.
