Okay, first of all I want to say that I'm not really good at equipment shots, especially from my back room because the space is so tight. Hopefully, you can glean some of what you'd like to see from these.

Backroom overview. You can get an idea how tight my working room is from this one. You can also see my 40g 'LPS' tank which we haven't even discussed yet.

Kalk Stirrer and Doser, Skimmer. You can also see my UV. Probably does nothing for the benefit of the corals but I don't always quarantine my incoming fish like I should.

Close-Up of my H&S Skimmer. Just cleaned when this shot was taken but can pull out some pretty nasty stuff. I run it fairly wet, btw.

This is the best shot I could find of my sump; in my garage before it was installed. Although you can only see one in place here, the unit utilizes four filter socks. This is because the tank has both upper and lower intakes (uppers are split). The fourth sock helps dissipate microbubbles from the skimmer.

And finally, here's a shot of my MTC Pro-Cal CR (...'Hey, I TOLD you I wasn't really good at this'.)

Thanks for all of the very kind words, by the way.

Now, for those who asked about my maintenance schedule, I lifted the following timeline from my upcoming and updated website. Note that this is an idealized timeline however, meaning I don't follow it to the letter. I DO come pretty close however. Thank God for satellite radio.

My Maintenance Timeline
AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE : Observe the tank for pleasure!!!

TWO-THREE TIMES A DAY:

Observe the tank for potential
problems.
Sight check the equipment for
potential problems.
Feed the fish.
Clean the feeding net.

ONCE A DAY:

Check S.G. with refractometer.
Clean the skimmer cup.
Apologize to wife.

EVERY 2-3 DAYS:

Change out and wash a new set of
filter socks for the sump.
Test for Alkalinity, Calcium, and
Phosphates (only if there’s a
problem).
Clean viewing glass with the
magnets.
Feed the corals.

WEEKLY:

Clean overflow screens.
Vinegar clean light bulb shields
of salt creep.
Clean tank top of salt creep.
Blow out detritus from tanks’
bottom and behind rockwork
with Python and sump pump.
This is also the time to scrape
away any algaes, including
coralline.
Water change (125g or approx
20% of 650g system).
Prepare new water. Salt to tank
levels. I don’t add the
supplements for Alk, Ca, and
Mg to the new water until a day or two before
changing.
Recharge Ozonizer dessicant.
Fragging if necessary.
Order new supplies if needed

BI-WEEKLY:

Change both GFO and GAC
reactor medias.
Recharge Kalk Doser.

MONTHLY:
Test Calcium, Alk, Magnesium and Phosphates (If things are going well)
Light clean Tunzes and MP-10s.
Calibrate pH and ORP monitors
and refractometer.
Clean Durso Standpipes.
Test run generator.

EVERY 6 WEEKS:

Change the GFO and GAC in their respective reactors.

QUARTERLY:
Switch chillers and have them
serviced. ['I have two chillers piggybacked in case of failure. And, yes, I HAVE had that happen']
Clean & recharge calcium
reactor.
Add aragonite to biodenitrator.
Perform a complete battery of
water parameter tests. You know, the stuff you don't normally test for.

BI-ANNUALY:
Thoroughly clean Tunzes and MP-10s

EVERY 8 MONTHS: Replace Halides.

ANNUALLY:

Replace T-5s 40g (Soon to be 'updated' to LEDs
Clean water pumps.

AS NEEDED:
Change out Spectrapure RO/DI cartridges (Normally,
every 200g or so for the big system. I’ll let things ride for
two mixing tank fill ups[250g], but the last 50g will
read a TDS of 1ppm. That’s as high as I’ll tolerate. By
the way, the TDS of my incoming tap (well) water is
211ppm.
Scratch removal (interior &
exterior.
Replace UV bulbs.
Replace probes.
Recharge Biodenitrator.
Apologize to wife.
Anything else I’ve forgotten including apologize to wife.

And, Mods, could one of you please add the 'E' that's missing in the word 'bar-bottom'? Can't find it? Ask my wise-guy daughter.

Unfortunately, my Sohal Attilla, finally passed on Christmas Eve '08 after being with me for nearly 10 years.
