Hi everyone! I’ve been on the forum for awhile now but haven’t had a tank in a few years. Once I started college things got too hectic for a reef tank so I decided to tear things down. Now that I’ve graduated I’ve decided to jump back into the hobby. I am taking things slow with a 6.8 gallon Imagitarium setup from Petco that I’ve pieced together with old equipment.

Here’s what the rock work looked like when I set it up about two months ago. I started the tank with an old AI sol but I have since switched to an AI Vega that I had been using over my planted tank.

First corals added to the tank. I was able to cycle the tank in about two weeks by using a few pounds of live rock from my lfs and adding bacteria.

The fire shrimp is my girlfriend’s favorite creature in this tank because of how much he loves to crawl around on her hand.

The sexy shrimp are fun to watch also, they seem to pick a different coral to host each night. Here’s a video of them hosting my final coral which is not too thrilled.

I love my little green banded goby. He’s still missing most of his tail fin after going carpet surfing twice in the first 24 hours after I got him, despite having a lid on the tank. The second time I caught him out of the tank he was out long enough that his tail fin had started to dry. I was sure he was a goner but I put him back in and a day later he was as good as new! Except that his dried up tail had fallen off

Don’t worry, I’ve modified the top to fill any gaps for him to jump out of again
