I used to have a 6line in my 180g. No issues. Now I have one in my frag tank. Night 1 (yesterday) I found him down in the pvc stand/leg under lighting diffuser. I though he was stuck, body bent in half. I lifted the rack and his body kinda fell out and looked lifeless.

Alive and well next morning.

Day 2, (just now) I found him behind overflow box on top of poly fill mesh. Just enough water to cover dorsal fin. Ugh.

I even supplied 2 pvc pipes laying down for him to sleep in yesterday.

Anyone else have weird stories like this?

Not sure on the sleeping behavior of 6 lines, but if they are anything like fairy wrasses they can do some weird things in their sleep. I had a Red Head Salon Fairy Wrasse that would sleep in a rock cave looking like it was lying dead on it's size. Each morning he would come out fine though.

I’ve seen some 6 lines sleep in sand, and others entirely wedged inside the rock. They’re kinda goofy.

I used to have a small clown who would sleep sideways on top of a gyre pump at night. He probably only had a 1/4 inch of water over him. The first couple times I saw him there, I thought he was stuck somehow, but nope. Just a weirdo.

Good to see this is normal.

My six line in my QT scared the bejeebus out of my this morning. He was upside down bent in a weird angle in a PVC pipe so I assumed he was dead. When I came to scoop him out, he was swimming again.
