The one front door they give you on the marineland tank stand is horrible access. What I did was built two shelves hanging off the front door. I reinforced all three sides with wood I just painted to give the stand more support. I cut an opening in the side to gain more access. Yes I did this with everything in operation. Crossing my fingers the tank was still standing. It's been months now without any issues. Do this at your own risk, I'm no professional by any means, just got sick of sticking my head in that tiny door.

I thought about making a door on the side of my cube stand but we didn't get to it. My door is really big though, I think I would rather just have a different sump.
