Not my first tank but first sump, setting up a 75g with 40 sump. My question is on the main drain should I use a threaded adapter to start from under tank or glue in pipe like in my pic Also what pvc glues are recommended or they all ok to use, primer and cement combo?

thanks

Use unions instead of threaded or glue may help in a lot of your situations. Easy to remove and reinstall in any event.

You should glue the pipe in. There are no adapters that use the threads on the outside. Those are just for the nut that tightens the bulkhead to the tank.

Thanks everyone, standard pvc glue and primer or do I need to find something tank safe?

If the bulkhead is ABS you should use transition glue.
