I need help. Anyone bored today and willing to help, because there's a ton of info out there about reducing nitrates and only some about raising them.
I have a 140g system w/ Apex controller. The Apex does water changes daily, which equal to 10% weekly. I have a 10" Trigger fleeceroller and Octo skimmer. I turned my skimmer off to raise nitrates, but then I ran through fleece too quickly. So, I bypass my fleece, then my sump turns to crap; literally - and still no nitrate change. I have enough algae to feed a cow, daily. I've dosed nitrate and phosphate (neo-nitrate and phos) to battle the algae and nothing (tried to keep nitrate at 5ppm and phosphate at .01). I've blacked out my tank twice for four days each to kill the algae- second time (a month a part) seemed to help a lot, but two weeks later..... here comes the algae again (which never really left). I "think" I see coralline algae starting to grow (after I dosed multiple bottles months ago), but I could be getting 'coralline fever", lol. I added multiple dosing of phytoplankton and copepods. Now, I'm getting a cyano outbreak... to which I'm about to dose chemi-clean ( I tried two 40g water changed trying to get rid of it and the algae, plus brushing it off, during the water change).

I dose 30 ml of alk and 50 ml of ca daily to keep my levels higher than what's in my salt. I feed Avast Reef Jerky 5 times a day (just changed from 3 to 5 feedings,1 month ago), for 1 minute a piece, using the Avast auto feeder "The Plank", so I feel like I'm feeding enough to keep my nitrates up(?).
Tank parameters: (120g corner tank display w/ 40g trigger sump) 40" wide on each side and 36" tall (i think, pretty close either way)
dkh 9.0
ca 440
mg 1350
ph 8.2
orp 267 (which has been around 350, up to around a month ago)
I pump Ozone at night, not to go over 350 and only pump it from midnight to 0600, if needed
salinity is 1.025
temp 78.0F

Equipment:
Apex system
ATO
10" trigger fleece roller
Octo Regal skimmer
4 MP40's (more than enough flow)
2 Vectra M2's
2 Radion xr30 g6 pro, set to Reef Dudes lighting spectrum and turned up to 80% to get 400 par mid way in tank

Fish are:
Yellow Tang
Bristletooth Tang
2 Maroon clowns
2 Ocellaris clowns
3 pajama cardinals
Orchid dottyback
Flame Hawkfish
Fire shrimp
5 emerald crabs
lots of snails and hermit crabs
4 Berghia Nudibranches to fight my ever growing aptasia issue (at least i guess they're in there, that's another story...)

I'm trying to keep my drive.... please help. Thank you

"Enough algae to feed a cow."

All of that algae is consuming PO4 & NO3 and may be why you are measuring "zero".

Clear that algae out, daily if necessary, and see if your numbers come up.
