Looking good so far! Looks like you're about to be in the exciting stocking stage if not already.

Hi all, production has slowed down a little since COVID

I used dead Fiji for my rock and used Fiji substrate.

I'm running freshwater at present in order to iron out any cliches AKA leaks I'm happy to report we have no leaks the ATO tank is lasting a week and will increase once I place a few lids on the sump and include dosing

I haven't decided on what skimmer to buy yet tossing between Great White or Bubble Magus

I haven't decided on Salts either but seems it will be either Aquaforest or Reef Revolution an Australian brand

I was thinking to cycle with a few mollies rather then clown fish as most do

lighting I'm still lost I rather T5 over MH or LED or at the very lease T5 and some LED light bars

I going to start some wood work over the week end

Why not cycle with ammonia and some bacteria in a bottle, ghost feeding, or even dropping a shrimp in? The bacteria in a bottle+ ammonia works the fastes IMO unless you have some good live rock that you can seed with.

What fish are you thinking of right now?

You know what I haven't even thought about that, as an absolute list but probably

Schooling fish (not all of these which ever I happen to find and can coexist)

Bangaii Cardinal
Blue Assessors
Square Block Anthias
Pascalaus Anthias
Blue chromis
Tiger Anthias
Pyramid Angles (maybe)
Black cap Gramma
Royal Gramma

These are my have to haves

Moorish Idol (hard to keep I know)
Ocellaris if not Percula (preferably harem I'm not into designer clowns)
flame Hawkfish or longnose hawk (Id like two if they are not territorial but instincts tell me that they are)
lawnmower blenny
Splendid Mandarin (pair)
Marine Beta

Tangs (although good worker fish I'm not really a Tang person but understand there required)

Yellow tang id like a few
Blue tang
Sail fin Tang
Purple Tang
Black tang

Wrasse (only the friendly kind)

Scotts Fairy Wrasse (as long as they leave my shrimp alone)
Cleaner wrasse

Shrimp

Coral Banded
Cleaner Shrimp
Peppermint Shrimp

I dont mind a heavily stocked aquarium but nothing silly

Just a suggestion since you have enough space.
But I think a Humuhumu would look great :)

Its been a while since I did an update

I've decided to go old school and stick with T5, instead of using 4 long tubes along the 12ft tank, I went with 2ft tubes and right across the tank, 64 in total, 4 banks of 16 lights 8 actinic 4 white 4 purple the Lights are timed with a wifi power board, I'm not really into controllers as such, not yet anyway.

I bashed my head against a wall couldn't decide what skimmer I wanted to use, well I could, I just couldn't afford the Deltec, so I went with 2 x Bubble magus Elite 9's, I figured cast acrylic and Sicci pumps, I thought not a bad starting point.

Deltec I still want you. :p

The tanks is cycled using Ammonium Chloride and Australian brand of a bottle of nitrifying & denitrifying bacteria strains along with pinch of fish food daily

I dare say we are ready for some fish

Dude that is one of the craziest light setups I've ever heard of. How often do you plan to change out the bulbs?

Your aquascape looks rad. Can't wait to see it full of life.

More than just hot air: Is there a Pufferfish in your aquarium?
