Yes I posted it in the hitchhiker area and they said they were ok to have and will likely die off alittle as the tank matures. Normal for a young tank. Filter feeders feed off silicates to build their shell.

hopefully I can keep these somewhat contained. Haha love the color and flow they bring to a tank though.

So now I have 5 fish two clowns two banghaii cardinals and a Randall's goby. And now have one goby that stays under his rock and 4 fish that stay in the corner lol. Got this big ol tank and stay in the corner.

Maybe you can confirm for me Cameron. Are these a darth maul or a morph of it. The lfs guy couldn't really say but they look like it to me as well. Either way couldn't pass up $5.

Not darth mauls I'm afraid. Looks more like people eaters. Here is darth mauls. Unless your colors aren't showing up well

So far so good I'm a fan of the gsp not many like it but it sure brings a lot of enjoyment to our reef. I have it over top my Randall's house and his white and orange color brings a nice contrast to the green. How's everything going with yours and I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately. I know the coral has become a lot more enjoyable than fish side of the reef lol. I didn't expect that coming into this 5 months ago. Also my shrimp and goby haven't really truly paired yet hopefully that'll happen soon. They stay close to each other but not what I would consider bonded really.

I like gsp myself. I have it all over my sandbed in random places. Looks like grass flowing around in the wind/flow lol. I honestly enjoy the corals more myself as well haha.

I like it on a bare bottom tank too my lfs has some on the back glass and overflow and it looks so natural I'd like to do that but don't know how much trouble it would be on the overflow.

Well as it works it's way up just keep it cut back and you shouldn't have any problems with it. It does look neat when it's like that though

You can use a razor and just cut them across and peel them back and place them somewhere else in the tank.
