Little did we know, exactly a year later, I would have a stroke and change so many things.
Seems pretty reckless to decide to have such a life changing event as a stroke without proper planning. o_O:p

I just can't take anything seriously @Brew12. Can I?

I can be serious some times. Generally when my wife is trying to bruise my ribs with her elbow. ;)

LOL, wives, the cure for all forms of whimsy!

EDIT: I am sure I am in trouble for that somehow

The doors are done. All three. YEP! we changed up the layout at the last minute so I have more painting to do.

The doors are hung with French cleats at the bottom and 25mm N52 magnets at the top. They hang perfectly this way and are very easy to get off the stand. NO HINGES!

Just used a cove bit on the router to put finger pulls on the sides.

This is a crappy photo and I have more sanding and painting to do. BTW, the blotchy is because this is salvaged wood from the boys' old bunk beds. :) I don't throw lumber away.

I was not happy with the switch panel or the backlit surround panel. Plus, I had to fit a controller for the second power head in it.

So, some router jigs, lots of sawdust and wood chips later and...

More sanding and painting to do but it looks a lot closer to what I wanted now.

I will probably never be satisfied but, it'll do.

BTW, the leds are on a dimmer and that isn't even half way up. The picture makes it look way brighter and more uneven than it is in person.

Figured out a mounting system to where the whole panel and all the outlets come out as one piece:

So, if I have to do any maintenance on it, I can undo 4 screws and pull it out of the stand.

Should make life a lot easier than having to squeeze my old butt into that space. :D

This is how I know it's getting close:

Signature tile is routed in!

It fits so good that I didn't even put glue on it.

I have disassembled the control panel and will pull the tile, do a final sanding and coat of paint, then paint the doors and the control panel and start to set it up!
