Hi everyone, Thursday night I took a nasty fall down some stairs and broke my left ankle and the fibula in my right leg, needless to say I am having a really rough time , we have a 3 month old puppy and a 2 year old "puppy" and my aquarium besides all the regular day to day things going on. I am in the orthopedic Dr.'s office as I'm typing this to see if I'll need surgery:( . So I apologize that I can't be on R2R as much as I have but will still be on here when I can, will keep you all posted. :)

Chris oddly enough I broke my fibula last week. It's been a full week now. After X-rays it appeared as a very clean spiral fracture. And they put me in a splint. I don't get a cast until the 29th. Concerned about the healing process my Dr stated the techs have looked at the images and are not concerned with the break get some rest and try to keep elevated when you can, we will see you on the 29th! After doing a little research, the fibula only bears about 10% of the load when you are on it and most people can begin to to walk and put there body weight on it again in about 3-4 weeks. Hope you heal quickly and if sure reefing community is anything like mine, you will be in good hands. FWIW by 250 burst a seam the same day and reef friends took my tank down completely within a few hours and housed all my livestock until the builder gets my new tank done and delivered.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your tank, thank goodness for good friends right? Since I broke the ankle on my left foot it is in a boot and for my right leg( fibula) the same as you keep it elevated and I am to get a knee scooter to stay off it. Luckily no surgery for either one as I had foot surgery a year ago in my right foot. I hope you heal quickly as well and thank you so much for responding. I hope everything works out for your sea creatures as well. :)

Thank you all so much, as rough as this is I know it can always be worse, thank goodness no surgery needed and we have a one story house :D Just that both legs having something broke is very awkward . I will be checking in as I really do learn so much and try to contribute what I can here on R2R and it really is hard to stay away. :):)
