I’ve successfully kept them and they have taken over. Mine do not host clowns, the tank bred clowns have no interest.

My new build will be both clown and anemone free. Might turn the old tank into a nem only tank with maroon clowns at some point down the line if I don’t sell it. That’s the only way I would do them again.

I've had one that split 1 time in about 1 and a half years ended up dying over a tank crash recently added 3 that have all disappeared for over a month now think my puffer ate them one I went looking for found it under a rock flipped the rock over went on my computer came back and it was gone not even an hour later about lost hope on them I either got 3 ticked off and hiding or the puffer ate them not quite sure

It’s actually one of the only animals I’ve ever had long - term success with. very easy to keep and do just fine without feeding, and they have been the sole survivors(other than my immortal crabs and fish) of many crashes before. Keeping feeding and stress low seems to do good in suppressing their numbers. I went from 1 - 5 since I got them, but only three remain now. I wonder whether they taste good because they seem to be rather easy to get off rocks.

1 turns unto 14 quickly! Love em, but I'm going to have to thin them out. My 4 clowns prefer the hammer and a chalice lol

I tried one around 2010 ( I assume wild caught) with poo results. I got one again recently, probably about two years ago, that came from a locals tank and it’s doing great!

A clownfish umbrella: What is your experience with bubble tip anemones?

Bubble tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor) are a favorite of many aquarists, and aspiring aquarists, because of their relationship with clownfish and for their own beauty. In the wild, clownfish often use this anemone for protection as the clownfish, unlike many potential predators, are resistant to the anemone’s stings. Although the risk is diminished in an aquarium, clownfish often enjoy the interaction with their host anemone. An anemone is not required for a clownfish and often, if an anemone is added to the tank, it is best added later once the tank has reached a greater level of stability and a mature environment has been established. Unfortunately, sometimes in the eagerness of setting up a tank, a clownfish and an anemone will be purchased for a new tank with less than desired results. Bubble tip anemones are easier to care for than some types of anemones and more difficult than others. What is your experience with bubble tip anemones?

Shipping them to WI soon.

1 rbta turned into 5 over 2 years. Kind of invasive as they are not easy to remove.
