tank

Hi Folks, JOHNNY here (sexy guy in the pic).

The tank is 9ft x 4ft x 3ft. The Skimmer is an 18" diameter Deltec with (4) Eheims and automatic washdown.

Large Deltec Kalkwasser Stirrer.

(2) Media reactors

(1) Fluidized calcium reactor.

One 180gal sump by Jeff Turchek at LifeReef.

(2) Tunze 6200's
(2) WaveBoxes on 7095 controller.

Lighting by Sfiligoi, (3) XR4s which have (1) 400watt single mogul with (4) T5's each.

For automation we have (6) LiterMeter 3's and (1) Aquatronica controller with all probes.

Hope this helps, it is the tank I always wanted but could never afford. ;]

JOHNNY

Well its for a customer, we could never afford all that stuff ourselves. I'm sure we'll be there so often it'll feel like our own tank. ;p

Back to work for me.

rock stars

Well my friend Alex and I have been putting in the rock work yesterday and today.
Its 800 lbs of kaelini live rock, probably won't use it all though. These rocks are 15-25lbs each so I'm really getting my workout.
We sunk 4-5 (can't remember, I'm so tired) 3 inch tall crates into the sand and cable tied the base rocks to them, that way the rock is not touching the sand and there will be no chance of rock slides in the future.
Using a rolling scafold has really been the way to go, I'm glad I thought of it.

What a day. Finished up the rockwork yesterday and got a great workout. ;p I've gotta go back today to tweak a few things, will get a picture of the tank all cleared up so you guys can see the finished product. ;]

We lowered the water level down as much as possible during the aquascaping so I wouldn't need a snorkel mask. Putting the crates in I was almost swimming but the doing the rock work wasn't so bad.

My friend said that I looked too happy doing the rock and I have to agree. I make it look like a lot more fun than it actually was. lol

Wish the water had been clearer on this pic, that's what happens when you use fine argonite sand. Its pretty but it sure has made putting in the rock a slower process.

Yeah, Juan (the guy we're doing it for) had a huge grin plastered on his face when he came in to check up on the aquascaping. This project has been in the works for over a year now, so he's really happy to see it starting to come together.
I can't wait to put corals and fish in it. Its definately going to be my "tank away from home". ;]

We're starting on a 120 in wall starphire tank for another guy now. So i'll post pics when that gets going.
