I have lots of mushrooms in my tank. Too many! They are pretty but they take up too much room. It's hard to move the rock around so that it's not touching any other rock. They spread like crazy. I have resorted to putting large mushroom rocks in my sump.

Tried a Florida ricordia before and it never did well and slowly melted away. Tried again and it started doing the same. Recently has filled back out. Need to move it now though since zoas have it surrounded. Luckily the single jawbreaker I added two years ago is doing much better.

My aquarium started rejecting discosomas of all species years ago. Perhaps a family specific parasite, bacteria, or virus. That is why my rock is in 10:1 bleach now. I'm tired of fighting a losing battle. I'll use every modern elixer to restart the tank and then use the old method of time. I'll start stocking when the first signs of coraline start growing. I have every color but blue in my starter tank for spores.

My oldest daughter hates the discosomas we always see at our LFS so I have NO shrooms yet. (She's the only one that's really "into" the tank in the family so I go with what she likes)

Now if we ever see a nice, affordable ricordea, might be able to get her interested.
