^^^^ that was my fantasy

vvvv this was reality

So now, never, ever any mushrooms in my tanks. Ditto, for pally's. Zoas are still allowed but that may change, lol.

I totally hear where you're coming from. What starts a nice and pretty.....becomes....and invasion over time.

Added "one Hairy Mushroom". Worst thing I ever did. Actually same applies to adding "one Green Paly".

This was tank years ago (during the "Green Paly Invasion" stage) This took many years to get to this stage (from single frag peices).

Then the "Hairy Mushroom invasion starting taking over the Right Side Rock Arch". They cawled up each of the Euphelia Stems, and smothered them. I had to remove the LPS from mushrom Patch areas. Impossible to contain, impossible to keep up with pruning them off.

Only nice thing about the Mushroom Patch was the Clown Pair hosted the patch. Great home for them. Even started laying eggs every few months.

Now I'm seriously thinking of Tearing down part of the rockscape to do some Mushroom eradication. They have hopped into other rock areas, and if they spread my Tank Diversity is doomed.

If they (mushrooms and palys) didn't spread so invasively or could be contained I wouldn't mind. But they spread like wildfire!

Best advice. If you have to add an invasive species....Plan ahead to keep it contained. Understand how they spread to achieve containment. Isolated rocks or Islands that don't have any contact points.

I only have three of these
13 GFEB 22 Shroom.jpg
This one gets to be about as big as a half dollar during the day, one around the corner from it about a dime and one on a piece of rubble just a pin head they came with everything when I acquired the tank I think they're cool but I like my lil Paly colony right now too might change my mind in a couple years lol

a bounce would be the only exception i'd make. great as a first coral for a new system but the way they spread make them a pest in a display intended to keep long term.

My current 20g cube is nothing but mushrooms, and one lone Torch Coral. I plan on having a mushroom zone in my new tank I'm building, but I love them.

I'm pretty keen to sweet shrooms as of late, although I need a ton more! That being said I'm not on the "up and up" on what's all available, colors, names, etc. So I thought it would be cool for us to share our most favorites!

Please share a photo and the name of your most favorite mushroom!

WWC Bounce Mushroom is my current favorite!

Here are my two at least 18 year old rhodactus, never split or multiplied about 6 inches across.

I have had quite a few types over the years and enjoy them especially the huge elephant ears but never considered them a must have. Right now I have some rics and jawbreaker and they are ok.

however I was given a OG wwc bounce and I have to admit it’s in a class all it’s own. True yellows and other color and they are tough while looking like bubble coral. I was amazed when saw a large one in person. Now I would have to rank it as probably my #1 coral we have common in the hobby due to the color, shape, ease of propagation, and hardiness.

I’m addicted to mushrooms.
Some of my favs:

Jawbreaker
Magic carpet mushroom
Neon pink yuma
Teal Ultra yuma
Superman rhodactis
Starburst rhadactis

Got this random cool one at my shop...not really sure what it is if anyone wants to try to ID it...he said it is a rhodactis but i don’t know if he was right..it is blue with orange circles.
