Hello,

I have been looking to add a Kole Tang to my 90 gallon and I have notice that some of the Kole tangs that I have seen have either been brown or purple in color. Can anyone explain to me this difference and how I could order a kole tang so that it will specifically be more on the purple side.

+1 to lighting, but also the health of the specimen. A varied diet, clean water, and as stress free as possible will get the best appearance.

So, the variation is only in lighting. Good to know, also what color should I be looking for in a healthy specimen

The difference is in the lighting not in the fish.

Yup, you would be amazed at how much of a factor lighting plays into the colors of your fish. My coral beauty dwarf angel looked semi-drab in the holding tank at my LFS, after a few weeks later and adding him to my DT this morning it transformed into a beautiful multicolored vibrant looking fish.
