Looking to see if I can find any other 1 of 1 chalice. That would pretty much eliminate all the recent imports. Basically looking for some diamonds in the roughs. I am pretty sure we all see them at our local shops, but for what ever reason, decide not to pick it up and place them in our tanks. This post is for the brave ones that gave the brown chalice a chance to be something special.
I will be posting some pics shortly this week. I have a few I picked up a couple years ago that are absolute eye candy.
BTW, the name "Absolute 1 or 1" is for the chalice I will be posting up.

There are soo many I've seen at my LFS but I have such a small tank I can't do that. I wish I had a prop tank or a large display that I could do that. I know I definately passed up some gems.

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh this is going to be good. I have one that I bought for 10 bucks that isn't a highly sought after one but turned out to very nice. A friend that came over recently saw it and requested a frag he liked it so much. I almost lost it due to a heat issue but it doing 100% better now. I will post pics tonight.

I picked up a 3"X3" small colony about four years ago at a LFS. At the time it was an unimpressive maroon color, but subtly attractive. I placed it in my old 55 nitrate machine and it turned the color of a cardboard box...nice! Within two weeks of placing it in my new 150 about 1 1/2 years ago, it began coloring up immediately, and growing rapidly. It is now a bi-level, 10" diameter glowing hot pink-with blue undertones-beauty. It is similar to the typical "Hot Lava" echinos all over the web.

I'm not sure what this is but it may be a chalice...

I bought it at OC II for 30.00. It keeps wanting to melt on me. :(

Ok, this one I snagged a year ago, it was all browned out and I have had people asking for pieces for the last six months.

Chalice showoff thread is just that. This thread is more specific. Its easy to pickup a nice frag that keeps its color and eventually grows. This thread is more about picking either a colony or frag of a brown out or dying chalice and watching it evolve over time.
