Acan Dying?

Hey everyone,
I have some concerns about my acan colony. It’s showing some sort of brown exposed skeleton on one side and a small start of bleaching on the other but I have no idea what could be causing it. Last time I had an acan it also did this and as well as this it had what my current one has which is a weird slimy coat over it too and overnight my old one died after doing this.

What do I do?

Could it also be a bacterial infection from being on the sand? I’ve got it dipping at the moment in an iodine dip.

Maybe. But if you have no nutrients that will cause tissue to go.

It doesn’t get too much flow and definitely has plenty of nutrients. I finished dipping in iodine and it’s looking way happier now and glowing in the light but still needs to recover the bleached spot. I also moved it off of the sand.

Its hard to help without knowing the parameters, lighting flow, how other corals are doing, etc...

I feed mine a few times a week with tiny fish pellets or roids. Sometimes Benereef.
They like to eat.

He said he had an ammonia spike in another thread. That’s what is causing his corals to die. He had a few corals die.

Do a water change and get the ammonia under control.

I never had an ammonia spike lol think you got the wrong dude. My ammonia is at 0

Your ammonia was up when you posted 12 days ago about your coral dying. That’s why your corals are dying.

I’m not trying to argue here, just trying to help you understand the problem you are having.
