I have had this Acan for about a month and have slowly started seeing what looks like red tentacles growing out around the edge of it. Is this normal growth? Just curious because this is my first and only one of these.

That looks like an Acan, which has receded due to Cyano bacteria.
Very gently blow that red off, and start to feed when she shows her tentacles.
If you have Cyano the system is either too young, or one, or both nutrients have bottomed out.

That is exactly what it was. I used my turkey baster and it blew right off. My tank is 7 months old. Just tested yesterday PO4 was .25 and nitrate 10 because I had a little Cyano on bottom but didn't expect it on coral. Changed direction of my powerheads and going to run my fuge light for 14 hours a day to see if I can get the PO4 down.
