What would cause this tissue to recede? No predators in tank,

I see it time to time on my acans and then they come back but the ones doing it aren’t growing. Thoughts? I’m thinking vermentid snails, I had a bunch surrounding one and when I got the snails off It seemed to bounce back, I just don’t see any snails by this guy.

Bump, I am noticing that there are small aiptaisa growing from the base of these affected acans, I am assuming that the sting could cause tissue to recede no? Bergia are in the tank doing work but still some on these acans.

I want to think its flow but the area I have them in has very little, PAR meter coming this weekend to check that.

Thanks for any help!
