Acans acting weird.

What would cause Acans to have a rigid boney look to them? Everything else is doing great but the acans don’t seem very happy.

I've got a dozen or more acans. About a month ago out of the blue one of them started looking like yours. I thought it was a goner but it still had color showing. I left it alone and about a week ago it started getting back to normal. No idea what caused mine to do this because everything else in the tank looked fine.

Most of the times I've seen this happen with acans it was either a chemistry swing/nutrients, flow issue or something picking at it like a shrimp.

Thank you! I am in the middle of switching my tank over so I separated the peppermint shrimp to a bucket and Only thing that is high is calcium. So we will see if the shrimp was the culprit.
