In the case of ovarian tissue, surgical resection is recommended. An encircling ligature can be placed or a CO2 laser can be used to remove the mass. Further eggs can be milked from the fish by inserting a syringe into the genital pore and exerting gentle "milking" pressure on the fish's abdomen.

Prolapsed intestine or rectum should be reduced if possible, and suture material can be used to anchor the tissue to the vent.

Conservative treatment is also possible and some prolapses reduce on their own if the fish is in otherwise good condition.

A purse-string suture can be placed around the genital pore or the anal pore to prevent further prolapses whilst also allowing the passage of eggs or faeces.

Care should be taken to provide optimum water quality and to avoid unnecessary stress to the fish.

I think this is towards larger fish not something in the marine hobbyist environment which is extremely small in most of our tanks

Very crazyyy... but I'm really thinking after all this valuable info that he just has been eating too much meat and not enough greens. Too much strength to poop and wham bam out come the anus. Today will be only greens and will start feeding more greens in general. Will keep you guys updated.

^^^ This. I have a video around here somewhere which shows how to do a purse-string suture on a fish. But I believe it would only be suitable to do on a very large fish.

I have a clown and I have been feeding tank a bunch of Frozen stuff this past week. Rods coral blend, rods fish only blend, and some frozen mices. Plus, I bought some pods from algebarn. I got a new fire shrimp and an anemane. I was trying to introduce the clown to the anemane by placing some live food in there. Had some success. The clown didn't completely get hosted by the nem, but he's all around it and I can tell he's happy with it. Anyhow, the clowns anus is protruding. Any thoughts?
