I guess its a little late, and that really sucks to lose that much, I just went through something similar. I did increase my iodine dose which stopped some of the rtn. I also bought Triton's RTN and STN-X and started dosing that according to the calculator (I didn't have time to wait around for the N-DOC testing that pinpoints the exact dosage because things were going downhill quickly). I haven't really experience much loss after I began that dosing program. However, I did find I have AEFW. I have done a lot of dipping and had to cut a lot of colonies out of the tank. Now, I am on day three of Fauna Marin's new AEFW-X treatment. It is supposed to take 4-6 weeks to cure the tank of AEFW so only time will tell. I can tell you that every time I dose, I see those little white bugs begin floating around the tank, so it definitely irritates them into releasing from the acros. Again, too early to tell if it really will actually kill them and interrupt their life cycle, or if it just annoys them, causes them to release only to find another home...

I 100% feel your pain. This happened to me just over a year ago. Lost all my high end coral and and about 20 fish the same day. I saved a few small pieces and have a small tank but I haven’t really jumped back in as of yet. I hope you handle it better than I did.

No. I have been insanely carful since wiping out AEFW early last year. I was lucky that I had success with a single round of 'PURGE' treatments.

List of dead acros. Backups also dead as frag tank is attached to the display.

Oh my god at the acros and the money. I would have been in the bathroom throwing up! I’m so sorry! I do not raise acros, I’m an LPS person but I feel your pain sister

Ah so sorry man. That's devastating. Probably time for a short break, you'll get back into it again soon.

Not that it matters now, but I guess in spirit of post-mortem... I remember reading about a new and super deadly strain of pest that was discovered a year or two ago. Is supposed to annihilate SPS. It's possible it found its way into you tank? Believe I read it on the ReefBuilders website.

Sorry again for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I’ve lost plenty of acros over the years but never that many so quickly. After years watching them grow, it’s gut wrenching to lose them literally overnight.

I hope you can track down the cause as that always gives me some piece of mind.

This is tragic.

Lets sample your tank, this seems clearly bacterial. Send me a PM if youre interested.
Completely agree... I would also guess bacterial. Really sorry...

It's crazy how much damage a little common soil bacteria can do to coral. About three years ago I lost all my large 7+ year old colonies due to bacteria on my hands after working outside. I washed my hands, but not good enough. :(

UV Sterilizers help.
