Any good sources for Interceptor with out prescription?

i ordered Dr G’s coral dip from their site the other day and they returned my $ wondering if should purchase it somewhere else

Seems like everywhere I look for Dr G’s coral dip it’s sold out

I guess I got lucky when I went to a local vet and they let me buy as many as I wanted. I just took some info of them from online about the treatment and some pictures of my tanks and they had no problem selling it to me. It expired and I still use it if I have to and it works fine. My advice would be to go to every local mom and pop vet you can and be very stern that you need the meds and someone should help you. Maybe each state has different rules on how to handle the situation and that’s why some have a hard time finding a vet to hell them. But I honestly feel like a majority of people try one vet and give up.

If you have a dog and buy them flea/tick/heartworm meds, I would just take the dog in and ask the vet if you could get some Interceptor or Interceptor Plus prescribed for them. I think that would be less conspicuous than just going in with a video of your tank and some online article that says to dump pet meds in your tank to kill some bugs. You might even be able to order it from 1800 pet meds if your vet participates with them.

I called them today - they are working on getting more out there, but supply chain problems so it could be 2-3 months.

Legally they have to see the patient. I believed that is nation wide. I had to call around San Diego for a while, but I did find a vet this time. I actually went door to door last year and had no luck. I took a frag in to the office and all went well. After they see the patient once, they can help you out again without a visit because of temporary covid rules.

I had an outbreak of some white bugs on one of my acros that spread through the tank. Severely affected PE and I could swear I could see bite marks on the tissues. Treated the tank with Dr G's at 2 ml per gallon and all seems well now. Here's a video of the little buggers.

Did you get this sorted mate. noticed last week that a few of my acros no longer have PE, closer inspection I have these white bugs all over them. Issue being is I am in the UK so may struggle to get DR G’s frag dip

I did. Is there any way you can get your hands on pet meds such as Interceptor (Milbemycin oxime)? If you can, look up red bug treatment procedures as it is the same.

Interceptor worked for me also, just did a second treatment to make sure they were gone

I ended up getting Dr G’s coral dip through Aquarium Specialty, only had to dip my frogspawn 2 times a week apart and it worked like charm.

However a couple of my hermits died after placing them back in DT, even though they had time in plain tank water to rinse off. so that was disappointing... but no more white bugs and frogspawn has great extension and seems very happy.

Yea, you guessed it, the medicated food contains hydroxychloroquine and they were afraid some very unintelligent people (nice way to put it) would ingest fish food.

I have Dr. G's dip on the way.. I don't have a severe outbreak of white bugs but they are certainly harassing a few acros. I'm wondering what the correct dosage is tho.. some say 1ml/gallon and others say 2ml/gallon. Also what effects will it have on tridacna clams and urchins? Thanks..

For me, it was kind of an experiment on dosage. I started out with 1/2ml per gallon, waited a few hours, watched the tank for adverse effects. Do another 1/2ml per gallon, wait and watch, etc. until I reached 2 ml per gallon, which seemed to be the magic dosage for the bugs to stop moving as much. The tank might look a little milky afterwards.

I do not believe I lost any snails, but if I can remember correctly my anemone wasn't the happiest and split. But it lived just fine.

I cannot speak on clams and urchins. I believe the interceptor procedure recommends removing inverts, probably for good reason. The bad thing is removing them, and reintroducing them could possibly bring the bugs back if there are any on them for whatever reason.
