My 220g has been up & running around 6weeks & all seems stable ..This is going to be a mixed reef...I have 7 small fish in there & would like to know when it's appropriate to add more fish & some corals. Once the time comes to do this can I add everything in one go, should I do every other day or maybe every week or so ? Should I add small amounts of corals ?
Also when should I set up the refugium & put in a protien skimmer?
Last of all, for now at least, I would like to add a little more sand to my bed. Is this something I can do or would you advise against it ??

You never want to dump a bunch of fish in all at once; best to add 1-2 per month. Or no more than 3-4 small ones. The only exception is if you are trying to add 3-4 tangs together in order to mitigate aggression, but that should only be done down the road once your tank matures.

A fuge & skimmer are both good to have; although I consider a good skimmer to be more important.

You can add more sand but do it slowly. Add some every week and then wait a week before adding more.

I wasn't looking to fill it fast but I didn't know what should be done..

What I'm not sure about is at what point the skimmer should go in. Is there a particular point in this whole process that would be best ??

Thanks for that, I just need to fill in one or two little spots..

One way to add sand to an existing tank is to use PVC pipe and use a funnel to pour it in. Again, do not add too much at once.

Great idea, thank you...

At 6 weeks your tank is very very young. Take it very slow :)

I'm not in a massive rush.. I didn't want to get it wrong.. Thanks..

So some of my comments above posted where I didn't expect.. One was a question & I'm going to ask it again in case it wasn't seen..
