Hi guys, i’d like to first say that I understand that ideally you want to add Tank’s all at the same time or at least put the biggest most aggressive in last. Unfortunately this time that’s not an option as I have a small yellow tang. About 1.5” which is currently in quarantine. Once quarantine is over, I need to consider the best way to integrated into my system. all of my 4 other tangs are on the smaller side ranging between two and 3.5 inches but this would definitely be the smallest. Does anybody have any tips or tricks that could help this go smoothly?

What size tank and what are the species of the other 4 tangs?
Sailfin close to 3” (right now the “bully” goes at mimic a bit. Will rehome if necessary)
Blue hippo 2.5”
Powder brown just over 3”
Mimic 2”

Answering the "what is your tank size" question will help you get appropriate answers about how to introduce the new tang.

I almost always use an acclimation box for a few days to a week (if the fish tolerates it.) I feed the box and right next to the box each time so the fish get used to the new one and watch for any aggression. When releasing if you see aggression use the mirror trick.

Make sure the yellow tang has really started eating well and put on some weight before putting it in the main tank.

acclimation box works but if you don't have one some other strategies are mirrors on the ends to keep the fish paying attention to themselves. in a pinch i've also used printed and cut out tang images, facing inward and stuck on a few places around the tank.
