It looks like my heater sensor is going out for my hygger heater on my Nano tank, does anyone have advice for a reliable nano heater that is shorter than 8in?

There's no such thing as a reliable heater. Every brand has plenty of examples of failures. Your best bet is to pick one with features you like, and incorporate as many fail-safes as possible, like an external temp controller and/or multiple undersized heaters. Personally, I like my 50w Nicrew heater. It has a short 5.5" heating element, an external digital temp controller, and matches my other temp sensors perfectly. But I also use an Inkbird temp controller. This way I have alarms/notifications and two temp controllers. It's more likely to fail off this way, but that is my preference.

IM helios. Its a real small package for the heater and comes with magnetic mounting.

Has multiple sensors to keep it in check. I use it on all my tanks including my 4.8G deskmate. Most stable heater I've ever had.

I second the Helio PTC Heater.
