I would throw out that frag and any other acro with sign of aefw immediately.

If in doubt throw it out!!

If you don't have much livestock I would nuke the display and start with a clean slate.

Its in my frag tank with about 1000 bucks worth of frags. I'm going to have to figure this out. I just ordered another frag tank maybe i can dip and put in new tank ? any AEFW predators ?

Its Going to take a series of dips. Inspect all your acros also. Pod eaters are potential predators

My understanding is Bayer dip is the most effective. Dip, inspect, repeat. I am not an expert on aefw treatment methods so hopefully someone will chime in who is better informed.

For the other frags you have I would remove them from the plug, dip then mount on a new clean plug before transferring to the alternate QT.

I believe they are limited to sps "Sticks" although I am not sure about montipora.

LPS, softies should be fine.

Do they only attack acros ? what all falls in the acro family ?

Yes acros only. Loads fall under the acro category. They won't bother other sps. They lay eggs on bare surfaces like dead skeleton, frag plugs and rock.

Saw some on the base rock under the plugs on a friends system. Was rather impressed with the order in which they're laid, almost like AN INTELLIGENT PREDATOR [emoji48]

Going through this right now as well. Thankfully I had just frags and no colonies. Pulled the frags that were still alive and put them in a QT. Running tank acro fallow for next 8 - 12 weeks in hopes they kill themselves off with lack of food. Still have a few varieties of monties in the tank though. Hopefully not an issue from what I've read. Acro frags I'm dipping once a week in coral rx and Bayer.

All frags were initially dipped in Bayer. My mistake was I did not remove them from their plugs and remount on new ones. Just took a toothbrush to mounts and was done. Lesson learned.....all new frags removed from plug, dipped, remounted and quarantined.
Good Luck!
