FINALLY, after UPS issues and Amazon issues, got my Kent Tech M to kill my bryopsis. I just manually removed as much as I could and will start dosing tonight.

Question is...once my bryopsis looks to be gone...should I:

1. Do a thorough clean on all my equipment (powerhead, skimmer, filter etc)
2. Do a water change
3. Do I need to change out any of my filters? Ie carbon/sponge/filter ball thingies.

You don't have to do any of that. but if the bryopsis appears to be gone, just keep dosing for several weeks after. Raise the mag to 1800ppm at 100ppm per day. results will vary however.

Manual removal is best via hand, h202, and rasping. I don't have any faith in Kent Tech M.

The problem that I have...is that I was repeatedly told by my LFS that it was a simple case of hair algae (since my tank is 1 month old, literally)...soooooo fast forward a few weeks and their "aha" moment when I called them out (thanks to all of you IDing it for me)...AND IT IS EVERYWHERE. In sheets on my tank walls (which I removed most of except the spots I can't reach due to preggers belly). It's not on my live rock, but it's in my sand and my dry rock...I'm having a small heart attack over it. It just keeps coming back after I remove it.

If you've added coral or live rock, those two things could have bryopsis on it. FWIW I didn't help ID it. Although, after going back through your thread, it does appear to be bry.

That said, manual removal via hands, h2o2 and rasping is the best method.

When removing with hands, make sure all pumps are off. When scraping the back walls, again pumps off. Use a net to collect floating filaments. Then manually remove pieces of sand that have bry growing. Let the tank filter out mechanically for a few hours and remove mechanical filtration. After that remove the affected rocks and start spot dosing h2o2. Let it sit for 3 minutes and rasp the affected area. Then rinse with tank water.

Whatever works.

You'll eventually get some regrowth. It will be limited though. Diligence is key.

I have...but my husband wanted to create his own thing for water changes...cuz he's cheap....so...a new cut hose and a drill powered something to siphon the water out. I dunno. Lol.

Seriously. During water changes, the thing is so dang slow it trickles. But he's really proud of it...I kinda hate to burst his bubble. Lol.

ahem....one tool i have fallen in live with is my canister filter. when i deep clean i put floss in it and run it for a few days or a week. no siphoning, i just scrape and the filter pulls it out you could stir the sand too.. back into the garage. also good in case of emergency. like $65 on amazon.

the externalMarineland magnum 350 hob filter with a micron paper filter does a great job of cleaning water up. can hang it on the front for a few hours then remove it when water is cleaned after stirring up substrate and scraping. pretty easy access to pull the filter out back wash it in the sink and run it some more on same filter cartridge
