Not as old as some, but my yellow tang is around 7 years old. He was around 20 bucks, don’t think I’d buy one now

Currently, a clown pair about 8 years old, and a watanabe angel about 7 years old.

My randalls goby went blind and then stopped eating, but we had 9 years together.

My first fish 11 years ago were a pair of clowns and my royal gramma. I just lost my female clown last month.
The male clown and RG are still going.

Next in line is my purple tang. Probably coming up on 10 years soon.

She’s about 7 inches. Was about 6” when I got her at 6 years old. Have her in my tank about 16 years. Guess they do most of their growing in the first few years, and guess being in a small 75 gallon stunted her growth. Because I’ve seen sailfins way bigger. Has been in a 220 for her time with me. She’s also still very colorful and vibrant. Which I’ve seen diminish in very large specimens

We started our saltwater tank about 3 and a half years ago and our first fish were our clown pair Stella and Miguel. They are a breeding pair now for about 2 years.
But our oldest fish is a Green Spotted Puffer from our freshwater days - I almost forgot about him! Piff is over 13 years old now and has moved house with us twice and survived a leaky tank while we were away on holiday for 2 weeks! He is very communicative and great fun.
This is awesome! Do you have a picture of him or his tank?

When we buy fish, we may not realize that some of the fish we buy will be with us for the long haul. Some fish only stick with us for a few years, while others live long enough to see the kids off to college...Of course, it may be hard to know exactly how old your oldest fish is (unless you were there to witness its entrance into the world), but if we are talking approximates...

How old is your oldest fish?

My Bengai is about to pass and he’s at least 10 years old. My yellow tang dies a few months ago and he was 14 years old. I don’t understand these articles that say fish only live a couple years. Just not true.
