Hi Team,

Looking to replace my Noopsyche Mini on my 10 gallon waterbox as it gets in the way of cabinet above and its spread isn't enough where if I turn it up it is too bright for the duncan on top of the scape.

Can anyone familiar with AI Blades let me know if a single Grow would work with my tank.

Thanks in advance!

The HelloReef 15 uses a single AI Blade.

Same. Included with the hello reef kit so I assume it would be capable as it’s marketed for keeping anemones. I was considering the kit but ended up just choosing parts individually. Actually have k7 mini you have. It is a narrow spread without height off the water. Blade will probably light more evenly with spread.

Look at these as an upgrade

"Blade Coral Grow is designed for maximum PAR efficiency and Blade Coral Glow is designed for maximum fluorescence. Mix them together and get the best of both. Peak performance is best achieved in a ratio of 2:1 Grow to Glow, but one of each is perfectly acceptable when less light is needed." from the website

You might really miss that bump at 410 nm that your lights provide, which is underrepresented with the Grow.

Wow, I didn't realize that mini is 60 watts?!! This light isn't really an upgrade

it will work just fine. I ran 2 blade grow over my Innovative marine 20 Fusion and it had plenty of light. 1 grow over a 10 should be plenty and will give you complete even coverage

There is a guy local to me that has one of those Hello Reef clownfish kits with the single 12" Grow. He has some clams and bubble tips in it and they are growing really well. I visited him when I bought some corals from him, and he is the reason that I went with my first Blade, I really liked the color and the fanless design! Like I said, I added the Glow later because of the color pop, but the single Blade over a small tank will grow corals!

The blade isn't really designed to be a standalone. I know people use it that way, but.....

Why isn’t it designed to be standalone and who is making that claim?

If people use it that way with great success, what then? Still don’t use it as a standalone because “it wasn’t designed” for that?

Just read the AI website... just saying. Frankly do whatever you want. It's your aquarium
