AI Vega help

I am hoping someone here has experience or maybe is even still using them.

I have 4 Vegas, 3 full spectrum, and one white and blue only.

Here is the issue. On all three of the full spectrum Vegas only the center two lights light up. In test mode on all three Vegas all 4 pods on each light, light up and work fine. And here is where it gets odd, if I change out the full spectrum for the white blue. All four pods light up.

I am not sure how to get all four pods to light up on the full spectrum Vegas. The controller is set for my time zone, and set to Philippines for the lighting control. I have storms, and moon phases enabled.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

So I have been in contact with AI, and all I can say is they have been super helpful. They sent me a list of instructions and things to try. So tonight we shall see if what they have emailed me fixes the problem. And if not he explained to me there are more extreme measures, but I need to be home and on the phone with them if we need to go this route.

If I get these working properly, I shall post the fix here. Heck I will post the fail as well.

Kind of

so that night I went home, and followed AI's instructions. And sadly it did not fix the issue. I did some googling and I think it was a Redit post that basically stated I needed to do a firmware update on the light itself. AI never did a firmware update for this particular controller. But after reading some instructions I decided to give it a try.

With the light powered on press and hold the reset button. When it flashes to go into "pairing" mode turn the light off while still holding the reset button. Do not release the reset button! Wait 10 seconds and turn the light back on while holding the reset button. When the pairing light flashes it is ready to be discovered.

From the controller search for the light. When it does find the light it will show "Firmware Update Needed." Tell it yes, and wait about 5 minutes. It will blank out and become unresponsive, I think this is normal as it will light back up in about 2 - 3 minutes. When it is done the light was up and running and all four pods were lit. Also the controller no longer showed 4 light parameters, it now shows 6.

I have learned a few more things. Turning the light off for more than about 10 minutes will cause the light to forget everything, and you have to do the WHOLE process over again. The controller on the other hand can be unplugged longer, and will still reconnect and work fine once you set the time on it. (wife unplugged it by accident)

The Vega has a really long power cord, so during water changes I just turn it off with the controller, and set it off to the side never unplugging it.

That is how I got it working, is it the correct fix? Maybe? But it works, and it saved me some money of sending to AI for repairs.

My goal is in the future whenever the Vega dies, is to get a set of Orphek lights. But I got three more Vegas in a box, so I might be set for a while.
