Aiptasia wand

Any body have any luck with these? I have a pretty heavy Aiptasia issue starting. I’ve added Berghia nubi branches but still think they will need some help.

There's a thread on here about lasers. Seems to be pretty effective as well and a little cheaper.

That will not work. The Aiptasia will quickly receded into the rock and you will not be able to reach it.

they work if you get it before it goes in the rock. I go at it for about 10 minutes every night. I am slowly getting them, but it is not a quick fix.

Don't try and help the nudibraches, it's counter productive and in some cases harmful to the nudibranches, no aiptasia x or anything. Patience is necessary.

Have you tried throwing a peppermint shrimp or two in the tank?

I got one of the very first ever made (by someone on this site who later sold the patent). They work much better with Majano than with Aiptasia. The Aiptasia always seemed to re-sprout days/weeks after I thought they were gone. If you already have the Berghia I would stick with those. I would be way to afraid of accidentally frying the Berghia.

I read somewhere that the likely explanation here is that when aiptasia is stressed, they tend to release spores. This was true when I used to just try to scrape aiptasia off...but since i started using the BBQ method, it's all good... ;)

I own one and they do work BUT as others have mentioned....get to them before they recede into hole. I have mine energized before I approach them so t can zap them immediately.
Syringe with Kalk, lemon juice or extremely hot water injected into their core also works.

Definitely a snake oil type product. I sure wouldn't spend that kind of money on something unproven. Aiptasia X and Peppermint shrimp would be the route to go to start. If that doesn't work you could try the likes of a Copperband butterflyfish or possibly a Klein's.

do not get a laser. super duper dangerous and most aiptasia seem to come back. captive bred file fish wiped them out for me. i do have one of those wands. occasionally an aiptasia will pop up in my sump and i zap them. the wand works good when there isnt a plague

Nanocrazed, are you serious about using the soldering iron? Or was that a joke? Does that work? Seems like it would absolutely melt them, and much more efficiently than any wand or laser

i would highly advise against the use of a soldering iron. not applicable in a water environment of any sorts
