Are we talking water green or a bloom of gha.

I wouldn't add anything and make sure you are getting plenty of surface agitation if the water is green or cloudy.

Honestly one of the local saltwater stores told me I'm having an algae bloom if the water is green. Which it is. There really isn't algae in my tank to begin with so I don't know what started this

in saltwater bottled solutions arent usually the best way to go. First why did you change 80% of the water? Not really recommended to do that large of a water change unless something went really wrong

ok looking at the last post you also have an anemone in there. Saltwater aquariums need a lot of research and you should always do research before adding any new inhabitants. I would suggest starting here https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/cont...brs-tv/beginners-guide-to-saltwater-aquariums.

20 gallon hex is a really weird sized tank and hard to get equipment for. I would change out the coralife filter or mod it so that it uses regular filter pads which i would clean, at the very least, once a week. It also looks like there is a stock light/lid that came with the aquarium and if so is not gonna be able to keep the anemone thriving

it is algae in the water column. Both are algae blooms just different types

My dad likes to be creative so he replaced that light bar with one of my other lights. And when you mean water column what does that mean exactly

So honestly. I don't know how this works in a sense of threads. So i just make a new one each time.
It makes it difficult to help. All the clues are scattered throughout a bunch of threads. It would be helpful to give all details together and follow a thread through. As far as the green water, a uv should clear that up quick.

hello. in this algae bloom, you dont need to do water changes. because thıs wont work or fix the situation. you have to buy and connect an UV sterilizer to break the bloom. too many hobbyıst doıng thıs also me. uv helps much. bot ınt algae or bacterial bloom. thats the solution.
