algae bloom normal after tank is cycled?

my tank is just about done with the cycle process, so there's nothing i can do now but wait, so I've been reading online and some have said that algae bloom will occur in a new tank. Now i currently don't have any algae in my tank right now, but once the cycle is done, will i see any algae bloom? and is it normal? if i do see any, should i just leave it, or try to clean it?

You will see a bloom. It'll likely be brown and green stuff on the glass, rocks and sand. It's a normal part of the process. Once you see it, you'll want to add a clean up crew (CUC). Snails, hermit crabs, etc. They'll help take care of it and your little ecosystem will continue to mature. Go ahead and scrape the glass, but I wouldn't try to remove the sand and rock algae. That's what the CUC is for.

Just know that new tanks are usually pretty ugly tanks. They look much better a couple of months in.

Yea clean it. If you started dry its a matter of NOT introducing alages to the system. If you started w live rock, you want to keep removing it manually and time the addition of cuc and manual removal.

yes, should be soon. start small though. The Irony is, you'll be adding algaes and baterias with the cuc.
No fish yet correct? are you running coral or fish QT?

agree fully. 90% of entrants into tank correction threads are those who purposefully farmed algae by simply not hand removing it/ it w grow for many reasons agreed the new tank is worst/usually because coralline hasn't plated down to exclude it. algae is pretty normal on the best natural reefs and only the grazers keep it in tow, not nutrient controls.

the hand guiding lessens in time but should be busy early on for an ideal start...do the opposite of what entrants into tank correction threads do.

the grazers are preventers. if you add them and never have any algae to remove by hand you're on track. if you add them, and still have algae to remove by hand then your still on track to a successful tank that is algae free always...only your work load w vary but the rocks will always look the same. keeping algae off surfaces allows coralline to begin/other excluders
