I am slowly stocking my first reef tank the only fish in right now is a yellow watchman goby. The tank has been running for two months now and I want to get an tail spot blenny or starry blenny. The only algae I have had is this hard green algae that doesn’t brush off. Is this something a blenny can eat or do they eat more of the hair algae variety? This picture is of a piece of rubble rock I got with coralline algae. The rest of the rock in my tank is just starting to get spots of coralline. I just want to make sure he has algae to graze on when between feedings. I can also get two clownfish and wait on the blenny till more algae is present as I’m assuming it will.

Thanks good to know. Would that be the same for a tail spot as well?

Tail Spots like to graze but will take as much feeding as you're willing to give. They're not like Lawnmower Blennies where they don't take prepared foods.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
