Just had a quick question. Wondering if anyone has ever battled an algae like the one in the pic below. Phosphates are running at 0.02, nitrates are 5, 1400 mag, 9.6 alk, calc is 450. all corals, fish and inverts are totally ok just seeing this outbreak and its not the most sightly thing. Blow off a powerhead and a day or two later its back in full force.

Just started dosing Brightwell's microbacter clean.

Any help would be appreciated.

@happysalt
I suggest you read product label and vacuum out the sluge you created by adding this enzyme cocktail.

Instead of pointing fingers you could’ve asked and I would’ve told you that this sludge has been growing and accumulating on my rock for almost two weeks now and I just started dosing this product two days ago because when I vacuum it out or brush it off powerheads it just grows right back.

So me looking for a solution to get it to stop growing I don’t think is rediculous. Hey

I have battled algae off and on for over a year and from personal experience I don't recommend any chemicals, especially Vibrant. My No3/Po4 were never more than about 2/.02 so sometimes it just happens. What worked for me was to continue with my weekly 10% water changes and and brush the corals and vacuum the sand. I still have a little but all tanks do imo.

Had similar. I pulled and soaked in vinegar for about 3 hrs and scrubbed of with algae sponge. Been a while since I've seen it therafter.
I believe it is slime and algae combined causing this

Sorry that you were slighted. I pointed out the solution by reading the product data sheet.
“Loosens and softens for easy vacuume removal”. I did not see ridiculous in any words that I wtote. If you Interpreted riduculous, that’s on you.

The solution is the same as before you dosed an enzyme. Vacuum it out. As a master gardener, desirables and undesirable need the same thing: food and a surface to colonize. In your reef, desirables & undesirables compete. Until you achieve a mature reef tank of Dynamic Equilibrium, you as the operator of the tank, must become the janitor. So, practice old fashioned hands on work until it’s gone. If you conscientiously vacuum it out, it is organic nutrient export and with perserversnce the battle can be won.
If left untreated, the nuisance algae exceeds the desirable algae, zooanthelia in coral is an algae.

Try not to be so sensitive when you receive feedback.

It's ok I don't take this stuff personally. FYI the prodcut is actually working and the algae is no longer growing. Everything that i removed is gone and the tank is doing much better. appreciate the input.
