AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

I use my A8SE II on a dual band router with separate 2.4 and 5g SSIDs, both of which have many connected devices. I'm not convinced that the dual bands are the problem. My guess is that there is a setting in some routers that causes the light to be disconnected occasionally, and switching routers is just a way of changing the default setting without knowing what it is. It's still possible the router is an issue, but it would not be my first guess, especially when your other light is operating correctly.

When you hold the center button on the light, does it eventually power up, going through each color channel sequentially? I would try it a few times. If nothing happens, try swapping power supplies with your other light.
The center button doesn't respond at all, it just stays solid blue after power up. The lights briefly turn on during power cycle and then stay off. I was thinking the same, maybe it's a weak power supply, I'll try swapping it and report back. Thanks!

Which version did you buy A8, A8SE, Max, Pro, Blue?

A8SE II Max

Does anyone know how to temporarily make the light reflect a certain setting? Like turn everything very blue for a few minutes to get some pics or whatever?

I’ve tinkered with the “temporarily” button but can’t really get it figured out..

Go manual, save setting.

I tried swapping the power supply, it still doesn't work, seems like it's in a unknown state. I'm working with the seller to see if there is anything that can be done before returning it.

sounds like maybe needs main board swapped. think they are only $40 but if its new they should send for free

Who can provide their settings for peak lighting that provides that coral pop cause mine only seem to pop when its in the last minute of the ramp down stage

This permanently changes the light schedule - not what I’m wanting to do.
what you want to do is set your schedule. The click save customer. This will save your profile. You then can do manual mode and make the color anything you want and then after your done click the down arrow on the presets and click your profile you saved and then save to device and your schedule will be back up running

I had no idea that you can share a custom template on these lights lol
yea when you are in the light settings. click the 3 bars in the top right and the QRshare. Build will save your profile in a QR code and scan will scan the photo and load that profile

The standard power supply is only rated for about 200w. So keep this mind if you want to go full radioactive with your light intensity. I ‘assume’ it will get very hot if trying to push it with maximum settings.

Output: 32v at 6.25amps = 208w

How did you obtain a better power supply for this light?

Keep an eye on your spectrums. It started by missing a few diodes of blues, became visually noticeable, significant drop
In par, then just dimmed out to the point where it’s not usable.
Have you guys been able to get the AI Pai app for the light to be installed on an Android phone? My Google pixel phone keeps telling me that the app does not meet Android security standards and will not be installed

Yes, I am using it on Pixel 8 pro, you might want to allow installation from unknown source.

I don't remember the exact options that popped up during installation, but I believe there should be an option asking to allow installation from unknown source when you open the APK file.
I got it. You have to turn off the scan protect feature under your profile in the Google app store. So in the top right corner you have to click on your profile. Go to scan, protect and turn it off.. I followed that and was able to install the app successfully. Now I can control the light. However it's not very intuitive so I'm going to have to spend some time playing around with this thing.
