mine is version 3.0.7 and they removed the timezone option in the main menu, so when i update the time and come back out, the time would go back to the old time

I checked, and my app version is also 3.0.7. You are looking at the android app version, not the individual light firmware version.

I didn't see these when I ordered mine last spring. One advantage of these might be the Bluetooth access, vs wifi, which would require cloud. The app looks similar.

Yes, that's the challenge with these lights. But, since they are a 3rd the cost of US brands we're willing to figure it out.

They didn't remove the time zone option, they just moved it. Tap on the light to enter the device settings, then tap the 3 bar menu at the top right, then TimeZoneSet. Since the time zone setting is now in the device settings, you'll have to change it for each device. Seems less convenient, but I guess it could be useful if you run tanks in different time zones?

I have had mine for 2 months so far and I really love them. The app obviously has some issues, but for the price, I'm willing to have some inconvenience. I run mine with 4 t5 bulbs. I had kessil 360we before with the T5s, and the difference is just staggering. These are so much better in many ways. Here's a couple pictures I took under the "blue" portion of the AB+ setting.

wanted to share a problem I had with mine and the fix.
I found my light running full power and the buttons on the top were not lit. I contacted my seller on ali and after sending them a video they promptly sent me a now control board. I swapped it out tonight and the light is now working perfectly. Appreciate the service of yzy on aliexpress

I run the Spectra lights from ali express. Cost me like 100aud each so bought two. 12 months and everything is happy.

Quick question before it arrives.... does the app have an acclimation mode or setting? I was planning on using the AB+ profile, and most of my corals are LPS. What’s the best way to swap the lights without stressing them? I have a PAR meter.

There's no automated acclimation mode, but there is an intensity slider that will vary the output while maintaining the spectral ratio of your preset. The slider itself does not display a % value, but you can see the channel values go up and down at whatever time is selected, so I just use my highest channel (blue for example) during the middle of the day to monitor the output. The app is not the most intuitive or convenient, but it does seem to do just about everything I'd like once I figured it out.

I'd choose your spectrum (AB+), then use the intensity slider to adjust the par value to 20-50% less than your current lighting, and then add 1% every day or two (or whatever you're comfortable with) until you're where you'd like to be.

Thanks, bud! Sounds easy enough, I guess I’ve been spoiled using the AI app over the past few years.
Did a PAR test last night on my current lights with a borrowed PARwise meter, and it looks like they need a bit of tweaking.

I’m holding off until the new A8SE lights arrive before I start making adjustments. Once they’re in, I’ll start a little below my current levels and bring it up by about 1% every couple of days to the required intensity

you've to configure inside each light submenu with this new version

I got 3 of a8se max version and i've a strange issue with them. Sometimes, the program doesn't update and remains in the previous mode programmed. I have to open the app (the latest version for iPhone) and hit 'save device' for it to update to the right program. But then it just stays on that until I check it again the following hour.
It's like it doesn't save or update the program properly. Is anyone else having this issue?
(i don't have the lights linked because i had to hard reset them some days ago, and to avoid if the link mode can cause issues)
