AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Can somebody tell me how to reset these lights? Nothing is working. Already tried to hold the middle button for 5 seconds and it's not doing anything.
I have 3 A8se lights. One is working but 2 lost connection and I can't access them from the app.

Leave unplugged for a bit and plug back in

I am not disagreeing with you. Just stating that you can swap different Chinese manu components and have similar quality product. In more cases than not if a product has been made in China there is likely an identical product under 30 different names/sellers.

As mentioned the radion has lost connectivity and acted up more times than this light. this light continues to perform better than the radion at a significantly lower price point. I’m currently working with someone to do spectral graphs on this light compared to radion blue. once all testing is done I’ll be placing my order for 10 more for the 360 gallon.

I can buy an unbranded waterbox tank directly from the manufacturer for half the price. It’s made in the same factory, with the same workers, the same quality glass, same silicone, same warranty, just doesn’t have the massive up charge for having a North American company name slapped on.

there is so much hate around products manufactured in China yet everyone here is happy to use them once a North American brand name is slapped on. If you don’t want to buy the light that’s fine. Just don’t steer others away from doing so in the name of “Chinese garbage” and American made means quality.

Stop getting caught up in having to have the best and shiniest new thing. I can tell you that no one cares and it’s only hurting you. Do what’s best for you.

Isn’t this moreso an example of IP theft?.. American entrepreneurs or engineers work hard to design the schematics and patents, choose to have made in China and then to have the factory they chose undermine them and sell replicas or their virtually same product, stealing their business away?..

But you're talking to consumers that shouldn't care about the inner workings of business.

If there's an offering for a similar product for a lot less, a consumer should think long and hard why they're paying more? To protect someone's IP (if that's the case) isn't a good enough reason for a consumer to spend more.

You can connect directly to the light. However, you will want to connect them at least once to the internet to get the firmware update.

Gotcha, it’s not so much protecting someone’s IP, but whether or not I support theft and or where the line is drawn in the sand for counterfeit and integrity.

I agree 100%! I stopped shopping with certain vendors unless totally unavoidable. When corporate greed becomes so apparent I try my best not to give them my money!

Just bought A8se, my friend also bought it same time ago. I'v got A8se friend also. But in app i have 8 channels vs 6 in my friend app, my App is version 2.1.1 my friend also. But when we link our lamps in active info we have difference my lamp is named as A8-SE8 when my friend A8-SE5. Is it about upgrade fw?

Somebody else has 8 channels in A8se with newest firmware?
