AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Sounds like a time zone issue
When the light syncs it shows the correct time zone. But checking wifi it does show the light loses connection. Maybe when it loses connection it loses the time sync? This happens a few times a day.

Do these light come configured in CST time zone? I am guessing -‘yes’. It does seem like the best action to take is to adjust the hours for your schedule so it matches your local time. Rather than try in vain to change the time zone itself. So just + or - the hours in accordance to your local time, and just keep it on CST time.

That is what I do. Mine are on from midnight to 11 am or something.

Mine set my time zone auto when I connected it and it has held the time perfectly and hasnt had one issue, Even after multiple times of powering off and on it keeps the time and programing and goes back to the program within 10sec of powering back up. I am not seeing any of the issues alot of people have about time with the light

When did you purchase the light?

That’s good to know. I’ve just ordered two A8 pro II versions. Fingers crossed the app and WiFi issues are minimal
hopefully you have easy time as I did. Its been running great and havnt had any problems at all. The only issues I had was just learning how it works. I couldnt for the life of me figure out how to make a schedule from scratch. So I just clicked AB+ and edited that to what i wanted. Also i learned that when adjusting colors for each time. It doesnt update super fast. So adjusting the colors it may delay about 10sec for it to show on the light itself. I made alot of mistakes that way moving things around and it wasnt updated on the light and then the color would be all off

After creating a 2.4g only wifi network on my router, using a wifi password of letters and numbers only (no special characters), and selecting my timezone in the user profile section of the app, I've had no problems either. The light maintains my schedule perfectly, and I can immediately connect and change the schedule in the app. Programming a schedule is not very intuitive, but I can do it now that I've figured it out. I like that you can save multiple lighting profiles and quickly switch between them.

I took mine apart and added about 2 grams of thermal paste to each light and have not really noticed a temp difference. They were running 56-57 degrees C and after they are now 55-56 degrees. May try to add more if I take them down again.

Also, think everyone’s issues are either having a special character in WiFi password or not adjusting the time zone in both the settings and light. I have no issues on my 3 lights over my 180 and is way brighter than the 3 radion xr15s gen 4s I had.

I added about 5 grams of thermal paste to mine, spread out to cover most of the plate, and I haven't noticed a difference either. Mine runs about 41°C both before and after the paste (hanging in open air in a 70°F room), so either it didn't need the paste, or the temp sensor is not placed correctly to make useful measurements.

Just arrived the A8 max blue - new version i am told. These are NOT comparable to my older radion. I do not like the blue.. Hard to describe but its like a hazy effect rather than clear. Other issues was the handing screws sent to do not work.. wrong size and for $330 this should not be an issue

There is a problem with the lights when you lose energy power or lose connection. They must fix this. Otherwise we will have to continue to adjust the schedule, after a power failure

Really, just bought an a8pro 2 max to test. I am running 1 A8SE and 1 A8PRO no issues so far. My plan is to replace the a8se with the a8pro 2 max..... maybe can be something with the blue, someone else facing this problem? these are new lights... never seen before

Dibi... did you have any problems with the screws that came with it... mine were too small...
When I have a chance I will try and post what I am talking about on the blue. BUT I have not tweaked it at all.. that is at full power and again the BLUE version

Bought my pair of “New Version” A8 Pro II Max from HERE Was a good deal, managed to get £55/$70 off the price with discount coupons. Hell knows what’s ‘new’ about them?

Anyone else use the same seller?

the ones they call skyblue are NOT called skyblue in the app. .. they are "olive" on the app. and I would note look more like a green than anything close to blue.. .I am trying to hang and play with the app. See where and if looks better..
