Alk fluctuations recommended???

I read this in an online article. Not sure if I agree with it. Any thoughts?

Limited fluctuations in alk is important especially for SPS health. Also, in a "true" low nutient system, an alk level of 6.5-8.0 dkh is important. Levels above or below those will very likely lead to SPS necrosis. It's also important to have a set value within that range. Flucuating throughout 6.5-8.0dkh is as harmful as being higher or lower (in a true low nutrient system). A fluctuation of more than 0.25 dkh within a 24 hr period (in a true low nutrient system) can cause significant SPS stress and likely necrosis.

though i do not run an ULNS thats a tough pill to swallow, not buying that part at all.

What about this part? Sounds like BS to me:

i dont run a ulns but i think they say anything out of those parameters would stress the corals more and therefor want to warn consumers that if they wish to guy that high that it could be bad. I dont run a ulns but had my alk at 9 but am going to switch salt brands and slowly bring it down to 8.6

I run ULNS and it dont think its that bad having a small fluctuaction running ULNS sistems
when i have problems with Alk the first to notice will be my acans they tend to close a little but no my sps
Evendo i always try to keep my alk stabile in 8 dkh at 1.025

I've not experienced any confirmed sps death due to .25dkh fluctuations. I am running a ulns and i try to keep it around 8dkh. I know the recommended is about 7.2dkh, but I'm figuring a fluctuation of +/- 1dkh will still put me in safe range.
