After 1h attempting to connect to the Wifi, I give up.

I just got a 5th generation model.

I can access the login screen, enter the password for a dedicated 2.4 GHZ Network, but it does not register the connection.

Very painful process to say the least.

To balance this feedback, the rest of the setup works well. Hopefully this can be resolved.

I am sorry it took a while to fix the WiFi issue. Thank you for providing the solution for the problem you were facing:

If someone else has this issue: My SSID and/or password were too complicated. Also, I had a mixed WPA/WPA2 Wi-Fi protocol. I had to create a simplified network on the same router which resolved the issue.

We will be going live on the feeders network tomorrow. Will be having discussions about aquawiz! Please join us :)

Thanks for updating this. An easy fix (depending on router) if known.

On balance, this is a great device and I would recommend buying this, but just have a plan to connect this to a proper WIFI that can handle these type of (very) basic WIFI devices. Adding a second router from Amazon for 30 USD might do the trick also if your current router cannot separate this network properly.

Are there any guides on how to calibrate the ph values(using ph7/10 solution) via the web interface on the Gen4? I read that you don't do it via the unit itself anyore?

Also is anyone able to please let me know the address of the web interface as often when I connect directly to the units wifi I'm not taken to the captive portal automaticlly.

I would not use the AquaWiz PH probe to measure tank PH.

Ph calibration can only be doe through the machine.

Ph calibration is not required for the machine to measure Kh accurately. Aquawiz works on relative Ph and absolute Ph is not needed. There are two ways to calibrate

1) Calibration Method 1

1. Please prepare three cups, filled with pH 7 solution, pH 10 solution, and purified water respectively.

2. Place the pH probe outside the machine.

3. On the main screen of the machine, select “Other”, press the confirm button once, then select “Yes”.

When you see the calibration screen, press the confirm button once.

4. Place the pH probe into the 7.0 calibration solution.

You’ll see the number on the right constantly changing. At first, it will change quickly. We need to wait until it slows down — about the speed of a ticking clock.

Then press the confirm button once. You should see “OK” appear on the right, indicating that the pH 7 calibration is complete.

5. Press the left or right button once — the same screen will now switch to the pH 10 calibration mode.

First, place the pH probe into the purified water and soak it for 2 seconds. Take it out and gently shake off the excess.

Then place the probe into the pH 10 solution.

Again, wait until the number on the right slows down to a steady pace. Press the confirm button once — when “OK” appears, it means the calibration is complete.

Finally, return to the main screen.

2) Calibration Method 2

Regarding the pH measurement, we have upgraded the system, which allows for calibration using the absolute value. On your phone, connect to the device's Wi-Fi signal source, and a device settings page will pop up. If he scrolls downl, you will see the 'Absolute pH Calibration' option. Please manually test the pH once, and then compare it with the machine's pH reading for that specific hour. For example: if the manual test result is pH 8.2, and the machine's reading for that hour is pH 8.0, you only need to input +0.2 in the option. This is a new feature. Let me known if you don't find it on the screen. You may need software update

Saw online someome stating they just bought a Gen 6. Is there anywhere that states the differences between the releases?

Thanks.
The current generation is Gen 5. We moved from Gen 4 to Gen 5.

The 5th generation machine features an optimized outer shell structure, which helps reduce the operating noise of the air pump through structural improvements. It also uses upgraded, higher-quality motors.

The following new features have also been added:

1. Three selectable dosing modes:
The first is the standard mode: users set a target KH value, and the machine automatically doses based on the difference between the hourly measured KH value and the target value — dosing only what is missing

The second mode is a fixed hourly dosing mode.

The third mode is specially designed for bolus users: dosing occurs once daily at a fixed time period while still following the “dose only what’s missing” logic.

2. Absolute pH calibration function.

3. Local monitoring mode: Users can place a tablet beside the aquarium, connect it directly to the machine, and view the KH value and the current operating stage of the machine in real time.

4. Integration with the Fauna Marin ICP system: Users can directly use Fauna Marin ICP results to automatically calibrate KH values.

At the same time, the app interface and feature layout have also been completely redesigned to provide a better overall user experience.
