I was testing my alkalinity with a new salifert test kit that I bought today and my alkalinity was 11.5 and I thought that was high because the last time I tested with my old api test kit the alkalinity was at 7. So I decided to retest the water with the old test kit and the alkalinity came out at 8. What should I do

Mix up a fresh gallon of salt mix and test that with both, and take a sample of your water to a LFS and ask them to test it. The results may not all match, but hopefully, you can figure out which test is correct.

I’ll do that but I really hope that the salifert one is correct because the api one can’t measure the alkalinity as 8.2 it can only measure it as 8 or 9

Just got back from my lfs and the salifert test kit is the right one
