Hello all, so here's the deal. I have a high calcium (490+) magnesium is at a 1260 but my kh is between 4 and 6, now I've been reading about soda ash to bring that # up,what I can't seem to figure out is how much of the made solution to add to get it up safely. I have a 40 breeder full of coral and fish I don't want to shock everything so any info.

Use this
And baking soda mixed with rodi

Enter 40 as tank size
Current kh you can put in 5
Desired enter 5.5

This will tell you how much baking soda is needed for a .5 increase.

Repeat daily until you’re at 8.5

Then I. Weekly testing, when you get to 8 you’ll know how to easily return to 8.5

approx 0.4 tsp.

How are you measuring Alkalinity, and are you sure that it's really that low?

Have you looked at the brs dosing calculator? They have dosage correction and daily dosage calculations.

The statement “between 4 and 6” worries me. There should not be that much uncertainty in the measurement, which implies testing concerns to me.
