So im looking into hydros automation. I will likely be using the x10(which has dosers) or the launch and using the standard hydros dosers. I'd like to know of any of hydros dosers are any good. If so maybe I can go another route for dosing. FYI I only will have a total of 60 gallons volume. I wont need very much dosing. Thanks every one!

I would say peristaltic pumps are the best type of doser.

You just have to decide how much you wanna spend.

i've had pretty good luck with even the cheapest, but that's not a recommendation just saying that you should feel comfortable buying whatever you want.

I really like the 2ml/min Hydros dosing pumps. They’re super accurate and quiet! My only issue with them is they take up an XP8 outlet since they’re 120VAC and not a Drive port.

Anything you would recommend where you would say ok i see no need spending any more money on another doser like this is what gets the job done and done well? I know there's usually all ways a product like that in any market.

Probably the BRS 1.1ml/min pump, but it’s only 2 rollers where the Hydros is 4, much less chance of a siphon with more rollers. Plus the Hydros is only ~$20 more.

The X10 is supposed to have accurate dosers, but it’s a lot more $$$ upfront.

Agh man thats killer that it takes up an xp8 outlet. I have so many devices as it is that require power.

I think any of them will perform the job adequately.

Honestly, I would research a bit into the software that the various doers use....

I've never actually had a high-end dozer, but I'm guessing that ease of use is what actually dictates a lot of the price.

The cheapies are a bit complicated to set up.

“Best” means different things to different people.
This inexpensive Chinese Jebao DP-4 is best to me as it has run flawless for 4 years….and counting.
Easy to calibrate, easy to set and best of all around $100.

I run the RedSea ReefDose (2Ch) for dosing and have two Versa Peristaltic dosing pumps for ATO / AWC. Both make noise, but its tolerable.

Theses are the cheapies I was referring to. I've had good luck with them! And calibration is easy. I would say the interface is functional, perhaps logical...but not friendly. Not sure I can give it credit than that....it's mostly cheap. ;) Still can't beat the price...but I'm not sure that's enough to make it for everyone....for example, I think some people would prefer a better interface for setup and for making changes.
